Happy Friday!
September 10, 2010

Rehearsal has been my life lately. I am learning new parts for Deana’s Educational Theatre, and I have my first show on September 24th. All of us have been gearing up for the school year, so there’s a lot of energy going into preparation.
In addition to DET rehearsals, I’ve had rehearsals for “Almost, Maine.” We’ve been focusing a lot on background and sat down to discuss our relationships to each other in the show. There’s a lot of layers to the play, which I adore, and is usually an overall treat for any actor. The show takes place in a fictional part of Maine, in the northernmost territory. ie: it’s FREEZING and annual snowfall averages to 115 inches a year. So as you may have gathered from this, the costumes are VERY warm. Lots of layers. Down, ski jackets, wool, you name it. It’s been interesting piecing together outfits in 85 degree weather haha.
We filmed “Wasted Youth,” which was more fun than I was even prepared for! We had a lot of setups, and I thought the director and crew used the space very wisely. Everyone was allowed to explore and try new things, but there was also a strong sense of structure to the flow and choreography for the scene, which to me is extremely useful to work with. Our investor screening for the spec will be in October. I’ll make sure to pass on more details so you can join us for the evening!
Tomorrow I’m in Boston for a read-through of another script I will soon be filming, “Last Day in Paradise.” Then it’s over to the New Hampshire Media Makers on Sunday. If you will be in the area, be sure to stop by for some coffee and news on the New England film scene.
Have a great weekend :)
