Well, California more than lived up to my expectations.
Oooo oo why did I go!?
Haha! Well, I went mostly to check it out and see how I like it out there (namely Los Angeles), to visit friends, and to meet with an agent.
For most of the time I stayed in Orange County. I have friends who I’ve known since grade school living out there, so they showed me around. I experienced the diverse vegetation, the sun, the mountains, etc. And also – I was able to eat completely vegan food every day. That made me super happy.
I went to Hollywood a couple of times. Once was to see a friend in a show on Sunset Boulevard at Theatre 68. “Beggars in the House of Plenty.” I stayed with a friend in Hollywood my last night, since I had a morning flight out of LAX the next day.
Anyway, I also had a successful meeting with a manager who is soon getting his agency license. We met at Hermosa Beach and I was treated to tapas. It was fun to share my career history and future goals with someone on the West Coast. He was definitely a great contact to make whilst visiting sunny California.
I left feeling very rejuvenated and ready to attack some new goals on the East Side. I know I will move out there eventually, and I will be flying out armed and ready.
I even learned how to do the basics of fire poi! Now THAT will be nice to add to my resume.
