Filming for “Fursona” is officially done. HOWEVER…I still need to go back for one more day of ADR. So we’re not QUITE done with me yet.

Last week I went to a meeting for the Hartford Arts and Heritage Council at Real Art Ways. As producer of “The Parkville Project,” for Bated Breath, I have really been trying to learn about grants and fundraising as much as possible. I am really glad I went to this informational meeting because it was a great reminder that there really are ways to get money for artistic endeavors even in such tough times. I was surrounded by probably 50 other artists from other non-profit companies. Everyone was eager to learn what Hartford is hoping the artistic community can do to spark job development and rebuild communities. I also realized how truly unique our project is and how perfectly it fits in with the whole idea of change and how it affects whole cultures and geographic areas. It’s going to be a lot of work this summer, but it will all be worth it.

Friday I had my first “Girl Chat’ show for Deana’s Educational Theatre. We were at Overlook Middle School and it was a very responsive group of girls. They asked a lot of questions and gave a lot of input. I think every single girl had her hand up at some point after the show. It was definitely the most intimate show I’ve had so far and I think it really paid off.

It was beautiful this weekend! I auditioned for “The Tempest,” and it was so much fun. After I performed my monologue I got to read for Miranda and Ariel. I have always wanted to play Ariel. Either way, it’s a great show and I would love to be in it. We shall see. All I know is, it really helped to see everything in bloom with the sun shining this weekend. Yay for spring!

Sunday Dave and I headed back to the OurFilmSpace studios to interview actors (and a reporter…and a camera operator! Haha) for “The Casey & Dave Show.” We got a lot of great questions from actors for casting directors and interviewed kids as young as four years old (SO adorable). We also heard a lot of great stories and even impersonations! It was successful and Dave and I definitely have a lot to work with for future episodes.

Work at CPTV has been fun as usual. I’m so glad I get to work there, I’m definitely lucky.

Well, I should finish packing now. And maybe get some sleep. It’s off on a plane to Ohio in the morning to perform “Yellow Dress” this weekend for Deana’s Educational Theatre! Catch ya on the flipside.
